Goal Accomplished!

There are many students around me and I can feel the shaking of my knees because of nervousness and excitement. “Relax and calm down, my dear. We will support you no matter what happen.” My teachers whispered at me and told me that I can do it. I gave them a huge smile in return. This is it.
As we entered the room where the category of copyreading will be held, the contestants occupied their seats and all of us became silent like a sea. First, we listened carefully to the mechanics given by the faculty members. “Your time starts now.” The facilitator shouted all over the room as the questionnaires were passed from the front up to the back seat. Next, I started answering the answer sheet and I told myself, “They are supporting you. Be calm and confident.” Then, the bell rang.

As the bell rang, it means that time was over and we need to pass our papers. Finally, after one hour, they announced the names of the winners. We all screamed in happiness when my name was called by the judges. “You won the third place! We’re so proud of you.” My teachers hugged and thanked me for giving my best shot with this journalism competition. “I won’t survive this contest if you’re not here, my dear teachers.” I told them gratefully and all of us shouted, “Mission accomplished!”.

Breaking the Rules

A large noise covered the whole school canteen. Everyone was drenched in sweat because of the hot, humid weather. I went next to my classmate and lined up properly. “What will you buy?” my classmate asked me. I turned my head and said, “I’ll just buy some soft drinks and biscuits.” I joined the long row of students eating their food on the corridor.

Thinking that nobody was around since other students had gone to their room, I ate my food quickly and threw my trash on the corridor. I thought I was the only one who knew it but I was wrong. I heard footsteps of heels going downstairs. All of a sudden, I felt ashamed. A teacher caught me off-guard and told me strictly to pick my trash and put it in the right garbage can. I picked up the trash and apologized to her. She told me, “You should not do it again.” I nodded and answered that I will not do it once more.

I hurriedly went back to our room and listened to the discussion. From that experience, I learned that all of us should respect and obey the rules and regulations in our school, not only on school, but on all places. We should follow the rules because it is for the good of the community.

SOAR HIGH, ACCESS SCHOLARS!

English Access Microscholarship Program. This is one of the inspirations of many students around the world. They give us opportunity to express ourselves, to learn more about English language, know the values and cultures of other country, and also, to get along with other people. I am so proud that our school was one of the luckiest recipient of the scholarship. We are very thankful and we want to show our appreciation and gratitude to those who gave us a great blessing.

Even if we had our training for abut 4 days, we had a good experience learning about different lectures. We assure you that all of us deserve to be the one of the scholar and we will do our best to achieve our dream and goal. Soar high everyone! Soar high access scholars!
